Friends and supporters of the YADOYA Guesthouse,

The first of April 2011 marks the beginning of our tenth year of operation and we want to take this opportunity to thank the many guests that have stayed with us over the years.  Together we have shared a multitude of treasured memories.  We try and  make every effort to build a warm, friendly community for visitors from abroad to enjoy.

We do so in the hopes that your time here is spent enjoying the beautiful city and the uniqueness of Japan instead of reeling from the blows of culture shock.  We appreciate the intrepid spirit that we have grown accustomed to seeing in our patrons , and your efforts to experience and understand our culture do not go unappreciated.

Due to the recent tragedy that has befallen Japan, many tourists and other travelers have fled in the interests of safety.  Here at the YADOYA Guesthouse we have maintained a positive spirit and continue to do what we can in these trying times.

Recently, we have been organizing an effort to provide support to victims of the March eleventh earthquake and the resulting tsunami.  We will be sending food and other necessities which are obtained through donations from friends, guests, and neighbors.

In order to both facilitate these efforts and continue normal business operations, we are pleased to announce the introduction of YADOYA Guesthouse T-shirts!  Fifty percent of the proceeds will go to relief efforts.  We have several colors and designs available.  YADOYA Guesthouse badges and pins are available for purchase as well.  Please refer to our Facebook page to place orders or make donations.

Also, due to the fact that our business model is particularly susceptible to safety concerns, any contributions to the YADOYA Guesthouse itself would be greatly appreciated.

We will donate 50% of the profits to support victims of the tragedy, and another 50% will go towards keeping the YADOYA Guesthouse afloat until the danger subsides and travel resumes. Remember, there is no small donation!

We want to thank all of you in advance for your support.  Together, we will be able to recover from these disasters and rebuild our nation.
